For many years the Little Ship Club held its south coast end of season dinner at Cowes, at one of the premier Cowes yacht clubs, often alternating between the Royal Corinthian and the Royal London and, sometimes, at the Royal Yacht Squadron.  Recent years have seen it move between various mainland locations.

However, this year the Club is reverting to tradition and is planning to hold the Frostbite Rally at Cowes, with dinner and dancing at the Royal London Yacht Club on Saturday, 17 October, which is also the Club’s  'traditional' date, being the closest week end to St Luke's day, when we have often enjoyed the warm benefits of ‘St Luke’s little summer’.

The Royal London can accommodate 60 people, and in line with tradition and the RLYC rules, dress will be jackets and ties for men and ‘posh’ frocks for ladies!  It is hoped this will not deter members from participating.  The RLYC has also offered us the use of their bedrooms, 10 in all, for those who wish to come by ferry and booking is strictly on a first come basis, directly with the RLYC. Berths (for boats) are being reserved at Cowes Yacht Haven.

The organizer, past commodore Keith Irons, is not expecting any payment at this time, but will welcome an indication from club members if they are likely to support this traditional south coast event, subject to an acceptable level of cost. With numbers limited to 60 it may be wise for members to get their names in early!
