Slow day at the Round the Island race
What a difference a year makes! Last year we reported on the records broken by Ben Ainslie, setting the fastest ever time to complete the Round the Island course. This year, with it's blistering heat and low winds has a completely opposite result, and marks the slowest time for a line honours boat - almost three times the length taken by Sir Ben last year.
Club President, Sir Robin Knox Johnston also enjoyed a marathon day on the water, completing the race in a time of 11 hours 35 minutes. He was awarded with Class Honours in the Open 60 class.
