RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate Course

If you own a fixed or hand held marine radio you are required by law to hold an operators licence and if you are up-grading your installation to include GMDSS you will need a new licence. This one-day course is taught using real two-way radio sets adapted for use in the classroom and considers the legal and practical requirements for effective marine communications and the operation of the equipment found on yachts and small craft.

Content:  Use of marine radio including GMDSS. Routine, distress, urgency and safety procedures.

Suggested min. pre-course experience:  None

Assumed knowledge:  None

Ability after course:  An understanding of the use of Marine VHF radio and completion of the application for an operators licence.

Day Dates:  Thursday 23 October 2008 09:30-17:30

Price:  £75 including all course materials (Licence Fee?)
