Join us for a week's cruising in Brittany

The plan is to assemble at La Trinite Sur Mer in southern Brittany on Saturday 13 July . On Sunday 14th July we will have a day sail from La Trinite, perhaps to nearby Quiberon, returning to La Trinite that evening for the Bastille day celebrations (our locally domiciled club member, Tony Vlasto, has recommended a good venue for supper where we will get the best view!).

On Monday 15 July, weather allowing we will set off for Vannes, the historic city at the top of Morbihan Bay, stopping overnight en route - possibly at the Isles des Moines (Isle of the Monks). We'll have a team dinner in Vannes  on the Tuesday and on Wednesday 17th set off for Hoedic. Hoedic is a charming, slightly off the beaten track, offlaying island; a bit like a Hebridean island that’s been cast adrift and fetched up in the sunny seas off southern Brittany, with more than a Gallic hint of ‘Whiskey Galore’ about it. From there, on Thursday 18 we will make a short hop to the neighbouring island of Houat, which is more developed with a stunning long sandy beach. Conditions allowing, we will anchor off the beach for the night. Finally, on Friday 19 July will return to La Trinite when Tony Vlasto has very kindly offered to host a reception for us in his garden!  We will then disperse on Saturday 20 July.

Wind and weather allowing, it promises to be a wonderful and not too strenuous week taking in the sights, sounds and gastronomic delights (especially for oyster lovers) of southern Brittany.  If you would like to join us, the website is open for registrations now.

Finally, if you would like to charter a boat at La Trinite, there is a huge selection on offer at very reasonable rates, please let Iain know via the website and he can point you in the right direction.
